Big doins for the Mackridges!

Well, much is underway in our household. First big news, we are pregnant! Baby #2 will be joining the clan on October 22nd. We couldn't be more excited!

Also, we found out last week that I got laid off from my job. Pretty scary, since we depend on the money it brings it, but also, it is our source of health insurance for the whole family. We are exploring all of our options and trying to remain optimistic.

We had a great St. Patrick's day weekend. Took Duncan downtown to see the parade. The weather was absolutely beautiful...about 55 degrees, and I think all of Syracuse was there! We never actually saw any of the parade itself, but managed to secure a spot in a cute little pub for the afternoon. Dunc was on his best behavior, and we all enjoyed sandwiches and drinks, and watching all the crazies.
That Sunday we had a great day at Onondaga Lake Park. Duncan still doesn't quite understand the playground, but he did enjoy watching the kids, and riding in his birthday wagon!
That's all for now!

Duncan's busy weekend

We had a very busy weekend last weekend. It started off with me being able to go out for a girls night out, which was much needed. Thank goodness for my mom's group....and beer. I loves me some Magic Hat #9.

Saturday morning after swim lessons, we took Duncan for his first big boy haircut. He was starting to look dangerously similar to Donald Trump.
Here is before:

And after...
He looks like such a little boy now....I think that all traces of my baby are completely gone.
On Sunday, for the Superbowl, we went to Grammy and Grampy's house where Duncan got to go sledding for the first time...

Fun was had....well, just by Ryan, but maybe next time he will like it more!

And he's off....

Well, Duncan is officially a walker. Last Wednesday he just let go, and away he went. Nothing is safe now...not that is was before!

It has been a rough week for us here....Dunc is now standing in his crib, so our half office/half room doesn't work anymore, as D stands and watches me work...and when I say watches, I mean screams bloody murder because he can see me. So it looks as though I will be relegated to the basement. We'll see how that works out. Also, Duncan is teething and hasn't been sleeping much at night, which is FANTASTIC! (read-horrible). Hopefully the toofers will pop through soon and give us all some relief!

So, I forgot already that I blog

I started this blog 2 weeks ago, and already forgot about it. I saw my friend Jen had started one for her little Sydney, and that reminded me to kick it back up a bit. We have quite a bit going on here lately. Most of you probably don't know but Ryan has applied for a new job working as a housing rehabilitation inspector for our county. It is a WONDERFUL opportunity for us...it would really change our lives. So if you could please keep us in your prayers, thoughts, etc. Other than that he is keeping busy with his current job, meetings and trying to keep up with house stuff here at home.

Mr. Duncan is doing wonderfully. He is walking more and more...I honestly don't think the child sits still for five minutes total during the day. He eats non-stop and is truly the most beautiful thing I have ever known. When he does sit still he is
loving his books he got for Christmas, and also his Little People zoo. He had his one-year well baby check up last week. He weighed in at 22 pounds 13 oz, and he is 31 inches long.

Quite the change from my teeny tiny.

He is turning into such a little boy. No more baby! We are so lucky to have him.

As for me, I am working still everyday, trying to keep up with Duncan, and a full time job and a house and our zoo. It is getting increasingly hard to get any work done, but I try my hardest since this job is such a blessing.
I am getting tired of snow. Dunc got a wagon for his birthday and I would love nothing more than to throw him in and head down to the park. Oh well...that is a good four months off at least.

Ok, I will publish this now, and try to remember to keep up with it!!

If everyone else jumped off a bridge...

Well, I figured since everyone else is blogging, why not start. Not much is going on lately...Duncan had his first birthday on the 9th. This past year has been the fastest one of my life. I never imagined I would love anyone more than I love my little guy.
Hm, what else to write about? Duncan has a great new trick, which is picking his nose. I think he picked (ha-ha) that one up from his daddy. He is also waving constantly (although not in a timely fashion when other people wave to him) and he will be walking very shortly.
Okay, I guess that is enough blogging for now.
